Apple rolled out a minor update to its iOS last week, and iOS 6.0.1 has now become iOS 6.1. The update was relatively small but it added improvements to Siri and iTunes Match and greater LTE network support.
iOS 6.1 adds to Siri's voice and adds to your LTE carriers
This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:
- LTE support for more carriers – the iOS allows 36 iPhone carriers and 23 iPad carriers around the world to provide access to LTE networks
- iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
- New button to reset the Advertising Identifier
- Siri can now order tickets for users in the United States through Fandango
You can update to iOS 6.1 in iTunes or through your device directly in the Settings app (General > Software Update).
As always, make sure to have a copy of your iTunes backup before any update to prevent data loss. If anything goes wrong and you cannot restore your backup, you can always use iPhone Backup Extractor to recover your contacts, notes, SMS, photos, videos and many more!
